Correct use of synchronous belt

1. Precautions for the installation of the synchronous belt

When installing: the axis of the main and driven synchronous belt wheels should be kept parallel; the grooves must be in the same plane and must not be twisted; the tension must meet the requirements; when multiple synchronous belts are driven, the length and tension of each The degree should be basically the same; and a protective cover should be installed. Before installation, ensure that the two planes of the driving wheel and the driven wheel are on the same plane. Do not use iron tools to forcibly pry in when installing the timing belt. This will seriously damage the pryed part of the timing belt, causing peeling between the inner layer and the strong layer of the timing belt or the skin is scratched, causing the slack of the prying part. It may also pry the timing belt pulley groove.

The correct installation method is: first loosen the tensioning device, then press the timing belt into the pulley groove by hand, and finally tension it.

2. Strengthen regular inspection, adjustment and maintenance

In order to ensure the normal operation of the timing belt, the use of the timing belt should be checked regularly. If there are defects such as serious wear, cracks, aging, and folding, it should be replaced in time. If it is stained with oil, clean it. In the group of synchronous belts, there should be no uneven tightness after installation. If the installation is too tight, the synchronous belt will be severely deformed, which will shorten the life of the synchronous belt, and will also cause the bearing to heat up due to excessive radial force and accelerate the damage of the bearing ; If the timing belt is too loose, the driven machine will not reach the rated speed, and even slip. Check the tightness of the timing belt, add a vertical load of 2kg to the middle of each belt, and the sag is 30-50mm.

3. Maintenance of synchronous belt

(1) When adjusting the tension of the timing belt regularly, it still fails to meet the specified requirements and must be replaced with a new timing belt. When replacing, all the belts on the same pulley should be replaced at the same time, otherwise due to the difference between the new and the old, the length will be different, so that the load on the timing belt will be unevenly distributed, causing vibration of the timing belt, unstable transmission, and reducing the transmission of the timing belt. Work efficiency.

(2) During use, the operating temperature of the timing belt should not exceed 80°C, do not apply belt grease casually. If you find that the surface of the timing belt is glowing, it indicates that the timing belt has slipped. First, remove the dirt on the surface of the belt, and then apply an appropriate amount of belt wax. When cleaning the timing belt, use warm water instead of cold or hot water.

(3) For various types of timing belts, it is not advisable to apply rosin or viscous substances. It is also necessary to prevent the timing belt from being contaminated with oil, butter, diesel and gasoline, otherwise it will corrode the timing belt and shorten the service life. The groove of the timing belt must not be oiled, otherwise it will slip.

(4) Keep the timing belt when it is not in use. It should be kept in a relatively low temperature, free from direct sunlight, no oil and corrosive smoke, to prevent the timing belt from deteriorating.

By analogy, the same method is also suitable for V-belts, V-ribbed belts, wide-angle belts, conveyor belts, etc.
